I am still here...

Christmas knitting has been done and gone... I will have to post a pic of Mom's scarf... forgot to get one before I gave it to her... same goes for my BIL's slippers... but I do have one for pop's scarf and my Embossed Leaves socks which are about 3/4 of the way finished.

I hope everyone has had a happy and healthy Holiday. Ours were very nice, glad that they are over though...

And I am going to try to be a better blogger ....

Starting Christmas Knitting.

This project is going to be a Feather and Fan scarf for my mom for Christmas. I'm using Blue Heron Rayon Metallic yarn in the "Water Hyacinth" colorway. The puter doesn't do it justice. The colors are absolutely gorgeous . It will be a gift from both my sister and I. It is time to start planning my Christmas knitting. Who else is going to do Holiday knitting? Let me know, ok?

Just been knitting..

There hasn't been much happening around here. I've started my quest to hunt down, capture and finish the many UFO's that I have abandoned.... the first of many was my very first Clapoti. It was a very easy knit and the yarn was lovely to work with...Knit-picks "Imagination" sock yarn in Mermaid Lagoon colorway... I will definitely knit another one.

Getting Back to Living.......

I decided the other day that it is time to bring an end to the pity party that I've been having for myself since I lost my job......And get with the program with my weight loss goals and my knitting .....I have stash and UFOs everywhere....I have just been casting on. This is a ufo that I have dug out... Olivia's "Wonderful Wallaby", I'm using Cascade 220 Heathers... I hope to have that finished soon so she'll have it before she out grows it...Lol.
As far as the weight loss goes, it was back to the gym this morning and a nice salad for dinner. Oh... I forgot the sugar-free jello....

Thing's are looking up...

We all know that the job market is terrible due to the way the economy is. I was laid off permanently from the job I held for 9 years....along with 43 other people. Prospects for other jobs are few and far between. At least there is unemployment comp. and provisions made for medical coverage.... Anyway, I realized that my only real option is a "career" change.... I decided to go for my C.N.A. training... well... the other day I was told that funding for the training is on hold....shot down again..... Today I randomly picked up our little town paper....in the want ads there was an ad in the classifieds for a local nursing facility hiring CNAs and offering an on the job training/ certification class....
So I went right up and applied for the position and was interviewed on the spot.... sounds good and keeping my fingers crossed...
